Let's go!

H&L has been formally appointed by Aston Martin Walton-on-Thames (Hersham Walton Motors) as its nominated structural body repairer. The agreement includes all Category A repairs and warranty work involving structural body and cosmetic paint work and makes H&L the exclusive provider of these services.

Founded in 1953 by Henry Laney, H&L is now under the stewardship of Managing Partner Jonathon Laney, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Henry, and father, Peter Laney. The business is already manufacturer approved with Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Cupra and VW Commercial Vehicles, and is a team of 40 specialists in a range of services including accident management, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), diagnostics, wheel refurbishment and alignment, electric vehicles, and paint and body repairs. Approximately 6,000 vehicles are cared for annually by H&L.

The agreement with Aston Martin Walton-on-Thames follows a 9-month accreditation process encompassing structural approval by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. Technicians from H&L were trained by Aston Martin Lagonda at its UK training facility, and the partnership has already seen close to 200 Aston Martins successfully restored by H&L.

Established in 1938, Hersham Walton Motors (HWM) is the world’s oldest Aston Martin dealership, establishing its relationship with the celebrated British brand in 1951, providing sales, servicing and parts to Aston Martin customers for over 80 years. The business remains private and family-owned, with Chairman Andrew Harting and CEO Guy Jenner at the helm. The business is also an official dealership for Caterham Cars, with H&L entrusted to provide structural body and paint services for this marque, too.

Commenting on the announcement, Managing Partner of H&L Jonathon Laney said, “This day has been two years in the making, and represents a major milestone for H&L. I am incredibly proud of my team and grateful for their dedication to maintaining the exceptional standards that have made this possible. The key-to-key service we will be providing to HWM and Aston Martin customers requires an unbelievable attention to detail and unwavering commitment to the job. During a visit to the Aston Martin factory, it was explained to me that once built, a car is not an Aston Martin until it wears the badge, and it doesn’t wear the famous Aston Martin wings until it is 100% perfect. We have adopted this ‘factory finish’ ethos, and are honoured to have been chosen to provide the same experience to customers that both HWM and Aston Martin are renowned. I’d like to dedicate this historic achievement to my father, Peter Laney, who instilled in H&L a culture of continual improvement in everything we do.”

Guy Jenner, CEO of HWM, commented, “As you might expect, we don’t take decisions on who handles our vehicles lightly. We have to be supremely confident that the same care, respect, dedication and passion is there. We felt there was an alignment in both the histories and values of HWM and H&L, with the very best in techniques and standards, along with a personal service, that is expect by our customers. H&L has already demonstrated this with a significant investment in training and tooling, with outstanding results on the first vehicles under their care, and we feel very assured in their hands.”
