Hi Phil. Welcome to H&L. How are you finding it so far?
I’m just coming to the end of my second month, but so far, it’s been brilliant. The team are just great.
What were you doing before you joined H&L?
Well, I spent fifteen years in golf club management at a course in Surrey. Then I joined the car industry. I started in sales, then spent seven years as General Manager and Business Development Manager at a big alloy wheels refurbishment centre just outside London.
Then Jonathon approached me about joining H&L.
What made you say yes to H&L?
I’ve built up a great set of contacts to do business with during my time in the industry. It was far too good an opportunity to turn down.
Before coming to H&L, I was just working on wheels. Now I get to look after the whole car!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I spend my day speaking with my contacts, including our partners at VW and Audi, as well as other well-known brands.
I tell them about the long history of H&L and how we can help them. The company story is so interesting; they always want to hear more.
Any funny stories so far from your time at H&L?
Hmmm. Not yet, as I haven’t been here that long. But I can tell you that it’s such a good, relaxed atmosphere. Everyone works hard, but we enjoy doing it.
